The King's Christmas List by Eldon Johnson, Illustrated by Bonnie Leick

The King's Christmas List is a Children's Christmas story. The book reminds children and adults alike about the true meaning of Christmas. The greatest gift we have to offer the Lord is the gift of giving to each other and helping those in need.
A little girl named Emma and her dog, Shu Shu, take a journey to the King's castle. On the way they help out several people in need. At the end of their journey they are left without a gift to give to the King, but soon learn that they have pleased the King very much because by giving to others they are giving to the Lord. My six year and I both enjoyed this book.
The illustrations are very bold and simple. The pictures include things that children enjoy looking at, such as, a little girl and her dog, a stuffed teddy bear, a horse and carriage, etc. Most of the story takes place outside surrounded by snow and other Christmas decorations. The length of the story is just right for little ones to enjoy and not lose interest.
A King's Christmas list sends a simple, yet important message. It reminds us that the most important gift we can give to the Lord is to give to each other.

I received this book free from the publisher through the Booksneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Bunk beds from Become If you're thinking of buying a new bunk bed for your kids, you should check out Become. They offer a wide range of bunk beds, including trundle bunk beds, twin bunk beds with stairs, and even a pirate ship bed.
The trundle bunk beds give you extra floor space and room for your children to play, and at the same time provides their company a place to sleep when spending the night. Although before I bought trundle bunk beds, I would check to see how easy or difficult it is to slide the trundle in and out. My kids have bunk beds with drawers underneath them to hold their clothes. The drawers seem like a nice idea, but they are very heavy, and pulling them in and out on a carpeted floor is no easy chore! Also if it is a younger child sleeping on the trundle bunk beds, they may get stepped on by the child on the bed above them.
Twin bunk beds with stairs make it much easier for the kids to get up and down when it comes to the top bunk compared to the original version of bunk beds. Original twin bunk beds only consist of a ladder on the side or end of the bed. The ladders can be a little trickier, especially for an adult whose trying to change sheets or straighten up the top bunk. In my opinion, the steps are safer, and look nicer too.
Become also carries pirate ship beds. These are really cool! I saw one pirate ship bed that was a toddler bed. It was painted and decorated to look like a pirate ship surrounded by the seas. The other one was a bunk bed. The bunk bed was not as decorated as the toddler bed. It would probably be more suitable for older children. The bunk bed was twin bunk beds encased by a dark carved wood resembling a pirate ship. Very nice!! If I was a kid, I would want one!

BROTHER AND I

Thanks to Erasmo Cortez

When my brother and I decided to go to homesecuritysystem.com and order my parents a security system we didn’t tell them. They’re really resistant to change and I knew that they’d freak out at the idea of having some newfangled technologyin their house but it was sort of a non negotiable since they live all the way out on that farm and they really don’t have any neighbors. I mean, haven’t you seen Capote? It’s hard as they get older and we’re farther away but we do what we can to make sure they’re taken care of and don’t want for anything. I sure wish I could visit every day and check on them but that’s just not in the cards since they’re so far away from my family and have no intention of moving! They’re pretty stubborn but that’s what I hear happens to people when they get their age so I’m not surprised and I generally just try to roll with it. They’ll grow out of it…NOT!
